Luis Pedro Zelaya
Driving through Guatemala is the best way to see the countryside and discover some amazing coffee! We’re usually quite busy when in Guatemala as we most often make the drive up to Huehuetenango and try to fit as much into our itinerary as possible. We actually ended up meeting Luis Pedro by accident. Long story short, on the last day of our first trip to Antigua, we stumbled into his café (BellaVista) one morning and struck a conversation with the barista who told us we should head up to the farm and pay him a visit. A couple hours later, we were standing in his picturesque cupping lab sampling nearly a hundred coffees and still managed to leave just in time to make our flight home that afternoon.
Fastforward to the present… we’ve been down to visit with Luis Pedro three times already this year and we’ve just received our lots of his coffee for the third straight year. Not only that, but we’re also extremely privileged to be among the first alongside Stumptown and Verve to have exported his Cascara.
We've got a delightful coffee from Luis Pedro this year, and above all, make sure to try the Cascara!!
